How do you use special unit abilities like stakes for the longbow men? The special activation slot is taken up by a fire arrow, and I want to use stakes, but I have no idea how.

Also, how do you assasinate people with spy? Its not like rome total war were there is a button. Does the spy require high level?

If I remember correctly, you can only deploy the stakes for archers at the beginning of the battle by pressing the button normally used for fire arrows.

I don't think spy's can kill in either game, thats what the assassin is for. However, you could use the spy to sabotage the enemy buildings and open gates.

Correct, you can only use stakes thuring the deployment phase.

I really thought that spy's could sabotage.. that's what I get for not playing in such a long time.

I was pretty sure the spy could destroy building and open the gates too. I have not actually tried it, the only instance where I came close to using it the option was greyed out and said that building couldn't be destroyed.

Do you have to do something to get your units to hide in forest, or do certain units do a better job at it? I used to ambush from forests all the time in the first MTW but it seems they notice my units in trees without much trouble.
