Mic doesnt work in TF2 or DoD:S (basically any games running on the new engine)

Yeah so my mic doesnt work in any games using the new source engine, no clue why, works fine in CS:S etc, and i also presume its not going to work with L4D either. Help is appreciated.

check your in game mic settings, they are much different from css.

How do you mean? ive looked in audio options and it doesnt let me change anything to do with the mic, just lets me do a mic test, and it doesnt pick up anything :\
