Mine is stuck at 99%

It's been sitting at 99% for a few hours now, how do I surpass this crucial barrier?

Try to 'launch' the game. This may force the update. It also means you don't have to start the game, just close the dialogue box once it's done updating. I had this problem and it worked for me.

maybe canceling and redownloading? I think something like that happened with my copy of hl2 when it first came out.
