MINERVA: Metastasis Episode 2 Release Date

There's a BitTorrent download for all you peer-to-peer fans - still waiting for some more mirrors (my connected friends are presumably either eating or getting drunk) but the website's been updated slightly.

Now for that news item...

Do I post now or am I waiting for a big bag of graphical still-life awesome or something? :O

You should have a news item thingy now. Please change the 'exploration and exploration' to 'exploration and infiltration' if you wish to use my text; I am a twit.

Also, mention the Bittorrent link - not all my mirrors have turned up yet... :-/

The torrent is damn fast. I already downed it from primary location (@40kBps) but I'm gonna seed this for a while. The torrent came down @254kBps...

.bog.

Downloading it direct now... I'm quivering with anticipation! :D

That torrent is blazing fast, had the whole thing in 30 seconds! Playing now...

Wow, that was incredible. Architecture, as per usual, was breathtaking: especially the moving machinery, which could easily have passed for Valve content.

I was especially blessed because for a brief moment I thought it was going to end with the first elevator you encountered: but instead it ended up bigger (and smarter) than the first instalment! Good looking, well paced, intriguing story: I want more, dang it!

/me give it five thumbs up

Hmm, that's an awful lot of severed thumbs...

It was truly amazing for a mod! They did an awesome job making you feel in the game. Map designers were truly awesome.

visuals - 9 1/2 out of 10 - some original use of vanilla models and plenty of accomplished brush modelling

atmosphere - 9/10 - great ambience, good use of soundscapes and sound effects made it pretty immersive

gameplay - 5/10 - pretty old skool corridor shooter stuff: shoot bad guys, way blocked, find controls to unblock way, more bad guys, rinse and repeat. no memorable gameplay moments at all, which let it down imho

pretty much the same pros and cons as the first map, only without the ridiculous load time.

It was fun. One part was crazy is near the end when it gets really hard to see.
everytime the gun shoots your vision gets dark and it gets annoying... kinda interesting though.
