model viewer problems

hello, my name is iRRVi (DUH!)

when i try to view my model in the hl2 model vierer, it shows nothing, its blank, nothing...

is there any way to fix this?

well does your model show up if you place it in a map? also does this only happen with your custom models and not the half life 2 models?

i can see some normal models...on some it says they have no vertices, im guessing because thier just skeletal animation...when i try to use one of my models in-game it minimizes the window...

also, it could be that i dont have a skin on it, cause i dont know how to put the skin on the model :-/

update: now when i try and put it in the game, there are red squares at the top corners of the screen

if you didnt have a texture on it then it exported an empty smd. all smds need a texture and a bone when you export.

it depends what you meen by that question but i take it you meen. how do you apply a texture to the object. what software are you using?

i found an answer, but now i get the black and purple skin of death...how do i fix it?

that meens it cant find the texture. so youve linked to it in the wrong place or i dont know the vmt file should also link to it.
