I am currently the Leader and Level Designer of my upcoming futuristic shooter modification. Though I have not found a good modeler yet. Even though in pre-production I need to have a modeler ready til I send some requests for things like:

Decoration

Weapons (animations as well)

Character models

Entities (like doors)

NOT FOR ONE PERSON 1 EACH

You'll need a few artist to do Environment art, Animation, Character art and Weapon art.
You cant just have one do all, its impossible. Really.

PS: also its a good thing to post more about your mod (concept art, the story, stuff to get people interested) before asking for help.

No, it's not.

But such person would have to be really interested and excited about your mod, which you know, is next to impossible.

Well ofcourse you can let one man do all the work, but it will take ages.
Best thing in my opinion is to have an artist for weapons & characters, and an artist for all the environment props etc.

edit: and having one artist do all the work for some "mod leader" is really a shitty way of doing stuff. Bassicly the artist enters a poo world full of shit storms.
...Unless he's REALLY interrested, which like you say, is as good as impossible.

gee thanks alot for nothing

Being constructive is a waste of time because it isn't like you are going to listen anyway.

I'll say "you need more experience to make your own mod, because it's a ton of work and you obviously have no idea what you're doing". I'll say "work on your skills and join up on other teams, successful teams, so you can see how things are done, before trying to do them, or you'll waste a lot of time groping around in the dark when you could easily have a flashlight."

And you'll say "**** that yorick ****. I know exactly what I'm doing."

But you don't.

And I don't see the point in being soft and fluffy to you when:
a) you won't listen to reason
b) you won't listen to experience

Okay Okay thanks alot Yorick, so you suggesting I should join Black Mesa Source Team or something?

Any mod that looks interesting to you, really. There are plenty of them around and having a solid portfolio is always good for when you'll be starting a mod.

The problem with creating your own mod, is that because SO MANY are started, it's hard to convince people that it will get past the stage of "brainstorming" and actually have something to show (or even be finished). Having an established portfolio and past experience shows that you know the engine, that you know how mod teams work, and so on. And the experience that you get doing that is pretty invaluable too.

Thanks again Yorick

You are starting to sound more fun

you misspelled "bantam" in your post, Yorick.

So is anyone going to PM me or not? Just for modeling and animating or just modeling please come on

Go to Interlopers or Mapcore. You're not going to get a lot of offers around here as this isn't a modding-specific site.

Now this might sound mean, but i really dont mean it that way... But why should anyone join your mod. There isnt anything that sounds even remotely interesting, new or unique about your mod... I want concept pictures and stuff like that, that makes me think; "Oooh : O, look at that, if only this mod was finished, we could play that, think how fun that must be, wait, ill just help him so he finishes it faster and we can play it yeah!!"
Just my 2 cents.

Cause I have hardly any experience and I want my upcoming mod of mine to be helpful to increase it

The only way you can gain experience is by making your own models, textures or levels.

Only then should you really consider joining a mod.
