Models in multiplayer mod

Okay, so i'm making a multiplayer mod (note that no-one is going to play it, it's all learning) and i wanted to change the player models avalible. I figured that what team you join by changing your model is probably somewhere in the code, so if anyone could pinpoint where that is, i'd be glad. My main problem, though, is how to add models. I have no idea how, so it's probably the part i need most help with. *
