More on G-Man

I finished my second run-through of HL2, and there was something I noticed in the final sequence when G-Man appears after you blow-up Breen.

When he talks to you, he makes strange noises when he inhales in between sentences. They are gutteral and drawn out, like something an alien would do. The only human that would sound like that is someone with emphysema. Couple this with his dry and monotone language, and the writing is on the wall...

This makes me think that GMan is some sort of alien in human form. I know this idea has been proposed already, but I just wanted to give it some more merit to back it up.

You dont blow up Breen, you destroy his portal, you may not have noticed but he drifts back down in his bubble, therefore theres still a possibility he is alive.

And as for Gman, yes i believe the prima guide said something along the lines of:

"His speech his slightly off, suggesting he is having trouble getting used to human language."

or something.

I've heard all of the G-Man theories, but I figured I would recall some pieces of evidence here to the most unlikely theory of all.... the probability that he might ACTUALLY be a government man.

"I've taken the liberty of relieving you of your weapons; most of them were government property anyway."

Yes, you could make the case that he is merely saying that the weapons do not belong to you... but the emphasis is that he has more right to them then you.

Of course, he also says "The border world, Xen, is in our control for the time being." While he tells you this, he shows you a bunch of blown up tanks and GIs, thus suggesting that being in "our control" means the American forces have control of Xen.

Of course, the overwhelming evidence is in the favor that the G-Man is an alien, since he seems to have almost limitless powers over teleportation and a good handle on temporal mechanics.

I think that there is still a lot of evidence to the theory that G-Man is nothing more than a member of a super-secret government agency... like S.H.I.E.L.D. from Marvel or the Men in Black.

The gman does not work for a government agency, i think that is aboustley obvious.

When he says government property, i think back then, long beofre the story of half life 2 was planned out, that they used it because they wanted the story to have a hint of X files in.

And about the Military, why do people insist they are in Xen? They arn't, thats a piece of EARTH caught up in the merger between xen and earth (portal storms)

And secondly it also states in raising the bar that his name is still to be decided, because G man isnt his official name anyway.

When you see the Earth military on Xen, GMan might not be referring to USA/any Earth nation by "in our control". If the GMan works for some galactic anti-Combine alliance, as it's probable, it's possible that he basically used the Earth forces, just like he used Gordon. Therefore, "our control" means control of the alliance (of which Earth became a part when Gordon started killing the combine-controlled Xen soldiers in HL1) and not in control of the Combine.
