Come again? Why would 9 screenshots kill VALVe's E3 show?
 
My writing is quite poor today.

It's not going to kill the show, I was meant to say those screenshots were to be released around the time of E3 with a few others but now you've all seen them posted everywhere it wont be very 'new'.
 
So they were offical shots, just not for the web. Wow, big deal. They still can be considered what the game looks like.

if you are insinuating I posted a stupid thread, then you perhaps should re-read (so that you understand the situation) the thread, and the previous thread "High Res screenshots from Valve" and where it began "Hl2 in gaming magazines"

people felt the new shots were horrendous, lacking in both visual flaire and Polish (compared to what we have seen before). some people thought they looked great (however some people will love it no matter what, hell it could go back to the HL1 engine and people will still love it) but the simple truth was these new "high resolution" shots were disgusting (no matter what your spin on it).

Munro blocked sites that linked to the new shots because he knew/thought (I think he pretty much knew, since he said from the beginning not to link to them) that they were unofficial, and therefore not allowed.
Hl2.net prides itself on keeping illegal scans/info/leak content to an absolute minimum. Munro and staff have done an excellent job in that regard.

People were complaining that Munro was being too strict for blocking sites too harshly since even "big name" sites like Gamespy, Gamespot and shacknews were hosting them... however after countless e-mails to Valve there was still no answer as to wether they were leaked or not.

Now keep in mind these shots appeared first on a German news site (I think you all know which one Im talking about) that is KNOWN for its LEAKE/BETA content, thats why they have been blocked out for ages.

and the reason I posted THIS thread was to let everyone know, that they had retracted their screenshots, and said that some user posted them... and they didnt want to infringe on copyrights.

SO... if a site that is known for (and still does) carry Beta/leak content is now all of a sudden worried about copyright infringement it raises an eyebrow correct?

nothing is spoiled, we are all still waiting for E3... but to be honest all of us passed judgement the day they announced HL2 (without seeing anything) we all knew it would rock, we all know its the next big thing.. thats why we are all here, regardless of topic of discussion.
 
Just a note: Gamespy has now made the huge widescreen shots official I think. They have edited their news post from "(politics?)" to "(about time)".
 
You are right Javert.. They have officially placed the watermark.. so maybe we can say official.. man this word has been said like a million times..lol ;) Then the fact we had permission to place them on our site so you guys might can say these screenshots are official.. just a suggestion.
 
Iim pretty sure valve would react or respond if those screenshots were leaked. Although graphics do seem like not what HL2 could show at some spots.

You're wrong.I can say it 100 % sure.Half-Life 2 could show you EVERYTHING.You will find out soon.
But, dont trust me, yet.Nobody believe me, they are call me Spoiler, so what...

But, on first view, skrinshot with chopper doesnt look officaly.

But did you see a Men on metal wire, it's possibily be a Administrator?
