Has you ever had one of those dreams where you know your just dreaming? (lucid dreaming)
Sure everyone has, but I had one that was a little unique, devious, and cruel. So bad that I just want to remove my brain and beat the living crap out of it.
I dreamed that I woke up in my bed with a brand new Xbox 360 sitting on my tabletop. Sure, not so extravagant to many of you, but I've had to pay bills and make ends meet the last couple of years, so I can't even afford a couple hundred bucks for pleasure right now. Plus, I borrowed my cousin's for about 6 months and enjoyed it thoroughly, so I hated to see it go.
Anyways, in the dream where I supposedly woke up and saw that brand new Xbox sitting there I said, "nah, it's just a dream, I'll just wake up in a few minutes and it'll no longer be there" So I stood up and walked over to examine it and then thought, "yeah, it's only a dream, I'm pretty sure of it. Look how fake this thing looks, and the disc tray doesn't even open with that button."
Then suddenly, I seemed to wake up in my bed again. Surely this can't happen twice in a dream right? WRONG! I was thrilled to death, because this time I was convinced I WASN'T dreaming. I was like, "holy shit! I've had one of these all along! It really wasn't a dream and I must have just woken up in a stupor not realizing! Sweet! I should go out and get Fable 2! Why have I've been waiting all this time?!?!
This time too, the 360 looked and seemed so real. Not like some distorted dream incarnation, and everything worked as it's supposed to.
Then suddenly, I realized there was a stand with a bunch of old NES, SNES, and Genesis games near my desk. In the dream I though I heard my sister say that she and her husband were moving in and they had to move all my old stuff I had stored to my room. (This is a pretty realistic vision, giving the fact they were close to losing their apartment at one point last month) It all seemed so real. There were even dust bunnies in several of the cartridge compartments of the stand that were empty.
I was like, "Awesome! I though I had gotten rid of all this stuff years ago!" I immediately started browsing through all my old games I THOUGHT I had gotten rid of. All the old Megaman games, Super Mario Bros, Contra, Ninja Gaiden, Crystalis, I was thrilled to death. Then suddenly, I realized that I had TWO copies of Zelda II. I though, "wait a minute, I never had two copies of this game" I examined closer and realized that one copy of Zelda II didn't look so familiar. It in fact was not a real copy that ever existed upon closer examination of the label. That's when it hit me....
Awwwwwwwww, SHIT! *poof* I woke up for real this time.
I have such a cruel mind. ;(
