need help for down loading half life 2

i get up to the 3rd cd searchs c:\programs\valve\steam\steamapps fileits searching for is : base source shared sounds.gcf then says error 1305 error reading file verify that the file exist.


how do i get over this and start this bluddy game its been 2 days i have had this game and not been able to play it.

need help.:frown:

I think it's because you chose not to install CS:S. Although I may be wrong.

Once again, I had that error. It is unfixable without getting a new copy of the game.

You bought a bad apple.

we have DVD copy of HL2 over (that for normal copy of HL2) and it has the same problem just let it install it all together and when it finish just into the folder that hold's .GCF and delete the 2 counter skite*(sorry can't spell it right) file's and your set
