Hi all I am currently buying a new video card so I can run this game at it's to performance. I have an APG interface and was wondering what is a great card to buy under that type?

what is your current video card? if you know. also what is your budget?

Sorry it took so long to answer back I have a Nvidia GForce2 Mx/Mx400 (yeah its very old I know)

Not sure. I'm doing a dxdiag search in my run program but I can't find it. Where would I find that out. (not much knowledge in that deparment)

You'll have to open up your computer. It should say it somewhere on the sticker on the side of the power supply (the box at the top)

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for but i wrote down a few things:

AC input 115/230/v

Combined Power is 160w

160w is rather low. You might be able to get away with it on the 7600gs if you don't push it, but definitely not the x1950pro. You would probably be safer with something in the neighborhood of a Radeon x1300 or Geforce 6200. I don't know if they make those in AGP though.

Will the Gs 7600 be able to play half life 2 and episode one in all its glory?

Your best bet might be to get the 7600gs as well as power supply in the 400w range. A good one will only cost around $40.

Yes, a 7600GS is a rather decent card, not really even low-end yet, and it'll run Source engine games quite well (beautiful scaling technology :)). However, like they said, that's a pretty flimsy PSU, so you might want to buy another one, 400W or so.

I'm looking on newegg right now. All I see are 110-240w ones

Here's a solid 430w for $39.99. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153023

As for the two cards there, its up to you. They are both technically the same card, the difference is that the XFX card comes (pretty significantly) overclocked out of the factory, but if you get that power supply, power shouldn't be an issue. Either one you choose you should be getting a quality card.

Ahh.. shopping for new hardware is so much fun. The anticipation of what your performance will be like is a rush. Provided you enjoy PC hardware. :p

I looked around a little and came across a couple ideas that might be of some interest to you.

eVGA 7800GS - $175 - Great power

I might be blind, but I didn't see where you posted what your budget was. Give us a total REALISTIC amount you can/will spend.

Rosewill 550W Power Supply - $59.95

P/S Voltage Rating - Not bad for the price.

Enjoy! Either way you go, you'll have great performance.
