need help in nova prospekt

how in the **** do i exit this place. i've opened the gates, except 1 and i have no idea where to go to open it.i unpluged the cord in the wall where the room with the big fan leads to and i seem to be going in circles from there.i,m past the the fire where the gas leak was at.i seem to have killed everything and need to know where to go from here.help appreciately needed.

I think you're supposed to crawl though a small area after defeating the Ant Lion guardian to a place where the walls are slowly flattening to you and then jump into the middle of a place where you will see a fire and soon drop to a nearby train station where you will meet Alyx.
