Need some Route Kanal help... im stuck

Im a newb and this is probably something simple im missing... but here it is

Anyhow.. once you fall down the air shaft and get into a room eventually made my way to the next room... no exit. end up finding a valve on a pipe i had to jump aroudn to get to which flooded the lower levals of that chamber. heres a pic

figured it would open something but no luck.

I went back to the other room and was searching around and the only way out it appears is through this vent which is too high to jump to. Also, there is nothing to stack so i can climb up to it

So basically Im stuck. been trying to figure a way out for the past two days with no sucess.

Can anyone help me out here?

i cant quite remember but you flood the room with the pipes then go back to the first room and theres some kinda hole you can crawl into cos its all flooded.

DOH! didnt even see that the ladder went down through a hole under water! im out now! WOO HOOO!!!!

I got stuck on that aswell.. except I didn't know where to find the VALVe.
