Hi All

I started my Phd project using the HL2 engine as a development tool for training medical personnel such as paramedics. The project is to evaluate HL2 and game engines as a tool for training medical personnel. I started the project last September but didnt get very far due to personal reasons. Now i have started to get back into the project I am looking for someone to help me to get started,

i need to develop a scenario were i use one of the in game characters to be a 3D patient and the players can be a medical paramedic team. So for example the first scenario could be an old character slumped in a chair and complaining of chest pains, and the paramedic team i.e the players could go and help the person and administer basic medical help.

What would be the best way to go about doing this, i.e hard coding or level editing and adding a character into the scene. I am not sure what kind of things can be done so

Any pointers in the right direction or help will be appreciated.

I can pay someone to do this as i will not be assesed on the actual devlopment side therefore i can get this done to save me valuable time.

cheers

Is the player supposed to participate in this? Or is it all scripted? If it's scripted you can just add 3d assets for the Paramedics and Old man, make a basic map, and set up a scripted sequence. You'd probably need animations as well. That'd be a lot more basic then if you went the player participation route. You'd have to program a lot more if you went that way.

Hi

thanks for your response, the player will need to participate in this. Basically the player will interact with the 3d models in the game and other players in the game. What is the best place to start from

cheers
