New HL2 vehicle in the SoftImage pics

After looking at the new screenshots that have come out, I noticed that the vehicle in one of the screenshots looks sorta like a tank concept that came out a few months back.

Are these the same vehicle?

I noticed this too, well its a new vehicle but I dont think its that specific vehicle. Well, hard to say really.

That's the APC, not the tank.

The concept art is a tank.
The vehicle is a APC, the same sort shown in the E3-videos.

I took a close look, and....

• Both vehicles have the same tracks/treads/wheels. The Shape of the treads are the same, and they positioning of the 4 treads are the same.
• Both vehicle’s main body seems to taper upwards the same.
• Both vehicles bulge out similarly near the treads.
• Both have some sort of bulge on the top.
• While the camera angle is very different, both of the vehicle's front ends appear to be the same.

The concept art and the lever editor shot appear to be showing the same vehicle.

I'd have to agree there, they do look like the same vehicle... except that they seem to have removed that paler bit on top that you can see in the concept art...

Nothing says that it isn't. :O I was just saying, man. I doubt it isn't recent though. The soul purpose of that article was to show off the latest stuff. If only that pic was high-res. It would be nice to see some stuff before the new Hammer came out. :naughty:

As far as I know, both the leak and the e3 demos are indeed a mismash of older and newer stuff (since the leak apparently came mostly from the content Valve brought to e3).

For all we know, there could be several different version of the same vehicle, some with the pale bit, some without. Who knows. Hopefuly, we have only months to wait (though, didn't I say that at some point before....?)
