New to the game...

When you all started did you first try the game with out cheats and find your way around or did you play HL1 and know the score from that game.

Any tips for a newbie game player as to what to do without cheats...

No need for cheats. Just aim well.

And really, HL1 was a very long game. T'would be a old to play the old textures and such and then to jump into... HL2ness.

nah, we dont want to spoil it for you, but you'll get a crowbar obviously, and you'll need to run and the pistol will be your next weapon a bit further on, you'll need to get outside first. Its a jump into the unknown but you just gotta be brave and do it

Once you get to the Lab and you get let outside, Barney will call you back and drop it down to you. You'll meet two combines later in a corridor with a stun baton and a pistol, kill them and get the pistol..

Carry on from there happy as larry, i'd advise you to just get stuck into the game, if you have some fear of it then put your cheats on as suggested in your other 100 threads. 'god' only though...dont ruin the whole game for yourself.
