getting that quadcore was a waste of money, there's barely anything that supports 4 cores..

Although I guess when they phase in support it'll be like a whole new lease of life on the same cpu.

but still the game would use a core completly, i mean like windows or other programmes running won't slow down the game.

I ran it on a dual core 6750, on max, and forgot to check if it actually used both cores.

No performance issues though.

Thanks for your opinion, but I strongly disagree.

All Unreal 3 engine games (Bioshock, Gears of War, Unreal Tournament III, etc.) support multiple cores. Crysis supports multiple cores. I believe id have stated Rage and its engine will support multiple cores. Valve said they're supporting multiple cores in the future, but I don't know if this currently does or not. Alan Wake will support multiple cores.

As jerkasaur said, the game will be able to completely utilize a single core, and background processes won't hinder your playing if it's only a single core supported game.

So, no, I don't think it was a waste of money. Furthermore, the entire computer cost less than $900, and that came with 3 gigs of RAM, the quad core, and 500GB on the HD; I got my 8800 for less than $200 more. I think it was a fairly good deal. I believe you're uninformed in the matter.

Cheomesh: My PC runs it fine too, I just want my laptop to run it better, as it's dual core. It gets a decent 35FPS, though, just want a little more.

Asus: Thanks :)

what are you talking about not using all 4 cores????

the other graphs are still spiking so obviously they are being used.

But if you add up the usage on the other 3 cores from the first graph it could easily fit within 2 cores. Except for the spike in the middle. Could be game related or just from alt-tabbing (notice the main core usage drops at that time). Being able to spread the same load is one thing. Creating additional load is another.
