No reflections in huge areas?!

I'm not sure if this has been said or not, but it seems as though there aren't any reflections in the ocean on the coast line. I'm not talking about the crane area with the buggy--I'm talking about later in the game (just in case some of you don't want to read, it's nothing "spoiling" at all, really...)

when you are driving along the coastline like the side of California and there are HUGE cliffs and such

. Is this just the game or is something wrong? I know it'd be a huge scene to re-render in a reflection, but since HL2 run so perfectly I would think they could do it! I have an x800 Pro, so if there is something in that game, you can be sure I'm seeing it.

Any thoughts?
