Hi!

I started to play HLDM and i get pwned very often. Can u give me some basic tipps? Like with weapon is good on wich distance, how to move and so on.

Also i have a question:
How can i throw the granate so fast? I see very often guys they just hold it short time and throw very fast and the granate explodes directly after contanct with anything.

P.S.: sorry for my bad english, i hope u understand me

I personally like using the Gravity Gun it takes a while to get used to it. Look around for some good weapons i usually find the combine pulse rifle and fire the orbs in a corridor not way for them to escape.

As for the grenades all they are doing is dropping the grenade at there feet (mouse 2)picking it up with the gravity gun (press G) and firing at you it take quite a bit of practice to master it.

Using the magnum with the zoom function makes for good head shotting.

if you have a mike, use tactics with other team members with them. if your lucky you can get a squad going in to support each other.use flanking and manuaver to dodge incoming grenades. NEVER GO NEAR GRENADES!!! experienced players only use those, even though i never got the hang of them. but anyway, a good teammate can help you get a better score and lower death rate. follow other, more expierenced players and never be on point (thats first in). leave that, once again to more expierienced players. and dont call yourself noob, its demeaning and you could get serious crap from jerks out there. never let on your new to the game. good stuff.

Don't change teams to the good one. Keep your cool. Search for the best weapon. If you're playing on a server with a points system hook up a bind to suicide so some mofo doesn't jack up your bank.

Bind is: bind "any key you want""kill"

The best thing you can do is change your mouse sensitivity to a higher level. (i play at around 11)

It may take some time to get used to how fast you aim and look around but once you get used to it there is nothing like being able to turn and shoot in any direction as fast as you can. It does take some skill to be able to control it but when you do you should be able to point and shoot and hit the other player wherever you want.

If you leave the mouse setting as it comes from Valve it is way too slow, by the time you turn around and see what's going on you're already dead.

High sens and low sens are basically the same in this game, it just depends on how you prefer it. I like my low sens and I do perfectly fine.

A good site for tips is http://hl2dm-university.com which is completely dedicated to players looking to get better

It's not the same at all. Turning it up allows you to be able to react faster with your mouse and point and aim in any direction without having to move your mouse across your mouse pad as much, it's more detailed and more accurate for aiming. This is a fact.

It can make you react faster because you don't have to move as much, sure, but you do lose detail in aiming by turning up the sens. Most players at high sens also won't aim as well as a low sens player one as the low sens's sensitivity is closer to the actual player speed, so he can track much easier than the high sens player.

I did fine for months at 38cm/360, but then again I use a somewhat bigger mousepad than others. It just depends on the player and what their preferences are.

Search for HL2:DM guides at any FAQ page. As I did. I do quite a few things of them such as run backwards,do a buttsechs surprise (Go behind a door, and... BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!1!!! LUL I GOT U, NOW U R DED)

Heres a tip - Play a better multiplayer game.

Oh look! someone trying to trash the most popular DM game currently in existence. @_@

......what?

Really, the best tip that could be told is to practice. You can't get just insta-good from tips on a forum. The more you play, the more you will get used to the game.
