this is so old it hurts - EA and Valve agreed this months ago
search before you post

These news are liek so old! All future Valve products will now be published by Ubisoft!

Every thread I've gone to tonight has something seriously wrong with it.

All I have to say is Jay is Games.

Sorry, I just had to post it :D

Did anyone else hear that Harold Godwinson lost an important military engagement in the south of England? He got an arrow in the eye and I think this means we get a French king or something :O I just read it on this here tapestry... and look, it also says EA are going to start publishing Valve games!

And get this... Valve are also publishing games over something called "the internet", through a "computer program" called "steam" :O ...

ALL HAIL KING WILLIAM OF NORMANDY

Haven't heard of that one, but a friend of my parent's just patented something called "The Spinning Jenny". Apparently it will revolutionise the industry no less. I say jolly good luck to him!

You newbs. Haven't you heard some brothers from Ohio made some flying machine? Flew 50 feet it did!

I've been hearing these rumours about this strange thing, called the "Internet", an "online" system where you can go to "sites" and "surf" for information.

Seems a bit over the top to me.

It's the spawn of the Devil I tell ya!

That's okay, we just don't need you to remind us of it! It still hurts!:(

Mutley: The ONLY thing EA is doing is putting the HL2/Source Steam cache files onto a disk, putting it in a box, and putting the box on shelves. EA has zero involvement in Valve's development beyond that.

That's not the point. VALVe, an indepent developer which is impossible to buy up by even EA and that has created a way in which to circumvent disitributors all together via Steam, has chosen to allow EA to make money off them. That's like Jesus selling his soul to the devil so he can give him a haircut and then go get a job.

Did you know I just heard about this new invention called a computer, sounds exciting doesnt it.

It's a good thing actually.
Lets see EA can't tell valve what to do or fund Valve.
Valve just hands EA product, EA can do commercials, ad's, and puts the product on the shelf.
EA cannot push Valve around.
EA is much better than Vivendi, most likly no friggen paper cases, much better contract(no lawsuits), and probably commercials....

In no way is this bad. In every way is it good(besides helping "EA" by buying it retail. Go steam!)
