hi, i recently downloaded 'NormalRender.dlu' from MAXplugins.de its says that it is possible to use it with 4.x in the basic tutorial in the readme, it says...

'7. In the "Default 1" material in the Material Editor, open the "Viewport Manager Rollout".'

now, i dont know a lot about materials in Max and i might b being a retard, but i cant find that Rollout. I think its only available in Max 5. if somebody cud plz help me, id be very grateful. either by finding the rollout, or tell me another way to get round it, id be very very grateful.

i've attached the readme file so u can hav a look at it in full, im on number 7.

no sorry, cant find what you on about, and i've been using 3dmax for 3 years now :x

i've got 5 and i've got 4 on a different machine, can't find it on either ;(

tutorials are gay like that... there is always a button that you carnt find and you have to spend ages looking for it

why do you need to see it in the viewport. Just get yourself a normal shader and render it.

i dont know much about normal mapping, i just thought this wud b easy, cause i wudnt hav to use more than 1 program.

the .dlu file sugests that it just renders these maps so this is wht i think you should do go to render >current renders and put on the normal mapper thing .
then apply some kind of realtime shader to teh object and apply the map that u rendered .
