ok, i have steam on my now nearly full hard drive. I want to preload it onto my other hard drive, but dont see any option for this. Is there some way i can preload hl2/ cs source onto my second harddrive without a reinstallation of steam?

Maybe try moving your steam folder over to the other drive... That's the only way I know of/can think of...

Yep, that's all I know.

Yes. Moving the whole folder would work fine. Steam does need to be all in one place.

What he said is correct.

ok, ill try that and post back later. Thanks for the input

i was in the same boat, but i tried copying my steam folder to the other drive but it still installed to the old one. I had to do the steam reinstall.

I've moved my Steam Folder from C Drive to G Drive and back about 4 times with no trouble. However, not for the reasons you're dealing with.

Good Luck.

Crist what a crap thing this Steam is. Its driving me nuts. moving doesnt help. Changing paths in registry neither.
