I messaged this to Valve, but I'm not going to get an answer it seems. I have the Xbox version of this game, granted the pc version has better graphics and more detail.. they're generally the same. Here is my question, I think I have a glitched copy or something...
Hi,
I received this game for Christmas and I must say it is quite excellent, thus far. But I am having a problem that's bringing me alot of frustration. By the way, the game I'm referring to is Half Life 2 for my Xbox. The problem I'm referring to is within the level of Nova Prospekt. I'll try to be as clear as possible, so please excuse me. I finished walking through the prison cells and I jumped down into a giant shower and bathroom area where I have defeated the big antlion. I removed the debris from the double doors to find a couple holes with some antlion buddies. The game loads and I enter another doorway with the antlion holes behind me. I turn left and to the high left there is a glassed room in which I cannot see into. Straight ahead there is a gated room. To the right of the gated room there's a ladder which leads to a higher plane with nothing there. To the left there's another wing and another gate. The room has one antlion hole in it. I kill everything in the room. I go straight and there's a turret on the opposite side of the gated room. with a vent to the left of it. (Online walkthroughs suggest that I have to go through that vent when I get there). I walk backwards and look left to see another gated doorway. And here is my problem. Every online walkthrough says that this is supposed to be a blue force field in which I'm supposed to pull a plug with the gravity gun an enter. But in my case it's just a gate with no sign of entry. I backtrack through the game back into the big shower/bathroom rooms, nothing there. I'm not new to the first person shooter genre, and I've played games far more difficult with less trouble than this. I really think that my version is glitched in some manner.
Every online walkthrough says a force field should be where I'm at, and there is not one. Please advise or I must ask for a different copy of this game.
Thank you for your time
