"Once you start, everything else just loses importance. Suddenly you've called in sick, your girl or boyfriend has given up on you, and all you have is sweet, blissful Oblivion."
93%

:D

Surprised?
No.

The OXM review made me confident that it was a good game.
Besides that, Bethesda rarely **** up as a dev.:)

Can't wait for me pre-ordered CE 360 vers <3

What was the little summary at the end, the pros and cons?

A quote from the review states that the only letdown is the lack of realistic A.I. humans/NPCs.
I'm not sure what they mean by that, we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm not that surprised tho, Radiant A.I. sounded so ****ing awsome in the previews where they listed the Radiant A.I. without limiting it, where people would go and rape and pillage randomly, but in the actual game they're limited to certain behaviours.

Looking forward to it!

Sounds like some people will mod the radiant A.I. to be unlimited. If that's at all possible...

"Oblivion A.I. - Pillaging!"

excellent, this game is a kick ass, and I must not download it...

A must buy....... /me added to my march shopping list :D

Don't tell me you got your copy in the post today? People always get theirs before me. :(

Either way, this has confirmed it even more that this will be my game of the year. (Until Twilight Princess)

Kinda reminds me of HL2 AI hype :D

"yea this is all done real-time. This is not a scripted sequence the AI controls these soldiers" *Beta leaks* "hhmmm... I kill the guy and the door still starts moving and finaly breaks open... AI MY ASS!"

Bakurei, it's not the devs overhyping the AI tho, it's the fans in this case.
The AI is apparently all it really was said to be, a way to make the coders not have to script every single scheme and movement for every single of the 1500+ NPCs in the world..
In the previews where they DEBUGGED the AI, the AI did hilarious and very lifelike things, like kill eachother because one wanted a rake.
But ingame they've decided to limit this to avoid having all those 1500+ NPCs go on a killing spree basically making the game lifeless as hell.:)

Ravioli, here in Sweden the release date is Friday the 24th, i.e. in less 13 days.

Yay! He has seen the light! :P

Its totally a must-buy! This game is looking to be one of the all-time great games ever! Even if its not, just walking around all of the forests and mountains and plains and such will be such a great escape from the normal crap and worries of everyday grown-up life! Far Cry did the same thing for me--make your own tropical paradise and if you want to throw in some killing for stress-relief, its only a couple of clicks away!

just read through the review, scans are up now, check out the gamefaqs boards for links, it looks fantastic in the screens, i particurly liked the screen of the reviewers character where he looked like Garrett from thief equipped with a bow hiding in the shadows...cant wait for the 24th!

How the hell did you get your PCG UK now! I'm subscribed but didn't get it today D:

Anywayyy....

Great review and trustworthy imo if from PCG UK

Nah... I live in the US, so I'm not really gonna bother with the UK version of PC Gamer. I just got the info from the Elder Scrolls forums.

*should've read your location*

But that still mean some bastard from the ES forums has it before me. Unless said bastard works for PCG or Future.

Meh, whatever. It should arrive on Monday or Tuesday.

This game looks very toaster/PC intensive. I'd get if the graphics wern't so great.

I might get it if it's like the Source engine in the sense that it doesn't lag despite it's graphics.

edit: I actually nearly meet the minimum system requirements (200MHz off CPU minimum). Yay I can physically run it!

Blah, Morrowind got 90% and that was the biggest pile of garbage I've ever played, so I won't be buying it.

of course I was using hyperbole, it wasn't the worst game I've ever played, but it was pretty awful.

Everyone just seemed way off when reviewing that game in my opinion.

RPGs would brobably interest me if they didn't have monthly fees or turn based combat, or levels, or the retarted "miss" symbols when you've obviously hit them with a chaingun or something

Oblivion is offline and singleplayer, therefore no monthly fees, the combat isn't turn-based and you'll be as accurate as you are with the mouse

None of that applies to the Elder Scrolls series...

Ah poo poo, how am I supposed to fork out $130 for this and Aftermath?

Oh luckly my birthdays in July so I only need $30 bucks.

*touches self*

As everyone else stated, Oblivion does not have these incredibly annoying/corny features that turn me (and other's like you) away from many RPGs.

To me, it sounds like Oblivion fixed everything that was a problem in Morrowind..
Fighting and NPCs <3

No 360, no PC to handle it, no cash.

I have 3 options

1. Rob a bank
2. Work until I can afford an upgrade
3. Hang myself with ethernet cable

OvA, you forgot
4. Become a prostitute.
Though that can fit into 2. I guess.

why is everyone talking about this oblivion

is that some video game?

wilka91, it's not SOME game, it's TEH game to END ALL games!*Just kidding, or am I*
