of Teleportation

You're all thinking about it way too much. God, people are so... egotistical to think humanity is somehow above the laws of physics. Like we're special or something.

We're just small balls bouncing around, n shit.
We aren't there yet, but we will be someday. Humanity won't and can't be stopped from oneday controlling the nature of the universe itself.

Unless we become extinct or something.

PS: Your avatar is very, very pedo. :\

Thanks for giving me a new turning point in my essay. If teleportation was actually a success, it would been disintergerating the original body and creating an exact copy of the new person in a molecular level. It would mean his original brainwaves, heartbeat points everything would be captured and recreated completely. Would this mean a person loses what they call his soul. Wouldn't the person being disintergerated feel pain? Really cool stuff to think about...

What would happen if say, there was a power surge, or some other mechanical failure of some type and the teleporter malfunctioned which causes the resulting incomplete teleportation to fail miserably?! :O Scary just thinking about it really. You could wind up being partially "deconstructed" and not have any skin, or only have half of your torso (!!!) which could mean a slow, agonizing death. No thanks. teleportation for materials maybe, but not humans. Also consider the sterility during the deconstruction phaze. Don't any of you remember what happened on that movie "TheFly"?!?! You would also probably have to be naked and clean shaved, as being "accidentally" merged into the molecules of your clothing, hair, and jewelry would probably kill you. (or the clone replica, whichever) The only way human teleportation could work is if it utilized "trans-dimensional manipulation" like the teleporters used in the Half-Life series' local teleporters instead of the "matter obliteration and transfer" method imo.

What would happen if a plane/car you were in crashed? Same thing. Any error they could probably fix by saving your information as data. They mess up, they kill the mutant-freak and do it again.

As far as pain, it depends on how fast the deconstruction occurs... Could be that it is simply done before the nerve impulses have a chance to cry out...

I'm pretty sure the deconstruction would have to be instantaneous.

Actually I have no idea. But it sounds right and people will probably believe me.

Teleportation doesn't have to involve creating/destroying the original copy of you. We can teleport things with wormholes, where you actually fold space/time like a piece of paper then drill a hole through it.

This obviously isn't simple and is thousands if not millions of years ahead of present day technology. I'd rather teleport through wormholes then get deconstructed.

But think about it, how cool would it be if something went wrong and you wound up in a completely different dimension/universe with different properties/laws of physics....

Thing is, we've already teleported single particles. We've yet to find wormholes though.

Yes, but with our current methods of technology, wormholes are more faraway than quantum deconstruction. Actually, they have created wormholes in particle accelerators before and have attempted to accelerate a proton into the wormhole, only thing is that they last for less than a fraction of a second and thus is extremely difficult.

Man, Particle accels (aka Cyclotrons) are gay, they create wormholes, anti matter and a whole load of crazy shit..

i think wormholes are safer and cooler. An error occuring using wormholes would probably result in going to another dimension which is cool/amazing.

An error involving deconstruction of atoms will probably result in pain/death/weird deformaties.

Everything is electrical in some way or form, all matter posses electro magnetic properties at some level even though they are physically inobservable to us. The most legitimate way of doing it is in the realms of particle physics.

A.Firstly we develop an understanding of how matter works i.e recongising that virtual particles are actually an energy feed into the atoms stability (the input that is needed to allow it to exist in the manner that it does etc).Find the energy pattern that gives it it's properties, i.e it's particular energy frequency/interface with the quantum vacuum.

B.Learn to manipulate that natural balance through reverse engineering techniques using natural phenomena such as electromagnetisim.

C.Use these techniques to manipulate the interaction of vacuum with the atom to change the vibrational frequency of physical matter to a higher quantum state (radio frequencies/light frequencies etc).

D.Transmit it and rephase it to it's normal vibrational frequency at a distant location.

That's the basic theory in particle physics anyway.

I'd like to know if one could piss while teleporting. Would it be like pissing in wind?

Wormholes are awesome. It'd be pretty much like Portal, only instead of a 2D hole in a wall it'd be a floating sphere, although I think it would look like a floating circular hole. The only way you can think about it is if you imagine a 2D world, then imagine bending and putting holes in that. You're bending it through a 3rd dimention and the inhabitants wouldn't notice, I think. Most of the conclusions about what it would be like for the 2D people can be applied to our 3D world, I think.

I find that whole teleporter philosophy stuff handy to remember when thinking about the "soul".

lol, UAC.

i can't find ultimate doom anywhere...i've tried wal mart, and EB games in several locations in my city and no one has it...and it's impossible to find it on the internet, i am pissed.

i don't like to buy things over steam. I like to get the hard copy.

I wouldn't be too surprised about not finding hard copies of a -95 game.
