Official HL back-story...

I've read alot of speculation as to the history and back-story of the Combine, the G-Man, and the other characters in HL and HL2. Everybody seems to have a different guess or opinion as to what is really going on. Do you think that filed away in a vault at Valve (or maybe in Gabe's head) is an actual document that explains the story in detail? Is there a definite answer for the origin of the G-Man and who he works for? Or, is the story vague and up to the players interpretation, with not even the developers knowing or deciding exactly what the answers to these questions are?

More likely in Marc Laidlaw's head, the script writer. But I'm sure they know quite a bit more than we do.

I hope so. I also hope that HL3 will answer more questions, because HL2 was an amazing game because of it's revolutionary gameplay and graphics, and if HL3 uses the same engine it will need a much better story to suceed.
