Who here listens to ska? I'm into things like Streetlight, Catch, Big D, Buck-O-Nine, and the Planet Smashers.

The only ska I've been exposed to is in Tony Hawk Pro Skater.

Oh, and Bad Religion if that's ska.

I don't REALLY like it, but it definitely grows on you if you listen to it enough (which I have)

If Sublime and Less Than Jake are ska, then I'm all about it. I've never really explored past that though.

Yes.

I've started threads about it, I bring it up in every music discussion thread I've seen, etc. I try to proselyte ska wherever I go.

Bad Manners is just reeeeeeally cheesy though.

Bad Religion is not ska. And you forgot The Aquabats.

i left out alot for the sake of not having a giant list in the first post. want to make one?

I have never even heard of Ska.

What is it?
Is it LIKE Breaking Benjamin?

itt people aren't allowed to like music unless they know the history

you thought bad religion, a punk band, was ska, so yes in your case it's important

It isn't because I don't listen to ska :cheese:

Knowing history of a genre isn't part of understanding what genre a band is. I haven't heard any of their songs in a while and I could have sworn they had some ska stuff, but I guess not.

I heard it when I used to go driving with my friend who played it in the car, and he also liked ska, so I guess that's why.

..? I know what ska is. The only reason I thought Bad Religion was ska was because of not being able to remember correctly. I just told you, we listened to a mix of Bad Religion and other stuff, and ska.

Vegeta/Stern argument in the brewing.

Genres. Are. For. Fail. Sure, they help for finding similar sounds, but as soon as people start arguing over defitinions, failure ensues.

definition? ska is to punk what opera is to metal ..they're all music, that's as far as the similiarities go ..had the argument been on reggae vs ska vs rocksteady you might have a point; they're all within the same genre ..ska and punk are no. It's only an argument because vageta wont concede that he made an honest mistake so he feels he needs to justify his response ...over and over again ..I really dont care either way

It isn't a genre argument :p

Yeah I made an honest mistake which you interpreted as me not knowing what ska is. So I explained. Matter over.

I really love it.
Last August I went to a Less Than Jake/ Reel Big Fish/Streetlight Manifesto concert.

Was amazing.
