Really contemplating going out and grabbing this... I hate adopting MMOs early on since I've been burned many times, but the overwhelmingly positive previews and user posts is really convincing. I just don't want to go through that "oh, I bought a shit MMO right from the start and wasted $50" experience again.

I get annoyed that the debuff when you die lasts 15 damn minutes. It should be 5. And you shouldn't get it when you die in pvp imo tbh wtf bbq.

You get a 3m penalty when you die in pvp. You can also pay a small fee (at lower levels anyways) to get rid of the debuff at a Healer.

A warhammer game that punishers you for dying, something Warhammer is all about (lots of death and fighting and destruction) is a bad game, good to hear the penalty isn't overly severe.



I'm gonna let Warhammer settle in for a month before I grab it.

Pretty much in the same boat. I really want a free trial to get a feel for it above anything else. Chances are I'd be making a permanent move from WoW if it's worthwhile.

This game ROCKS. got a level 6 or 7 black orc atm. No rep or xp grinds at all, you can pvp to the level cap without doing any pve, (or pvp for that matter) it just rocks.

You -always- respawn right next to a healer... just pay the pocket change to have it removed.

I haven't found the reasoning for the respawn death penalties but the resurrection one is there to make it so you can't just get resurrected by another player and have it be like you never died. There's no cooldown on the resurrection spell my guy has and it's only 3 or 5 second cast, so I'm sure you could see why it's needed.

yeah and look where that game went.

WAR's combat is interesting, it has combos, e.g moves you cant use until you use others before it. builds up damage kind of thing

I can't decide between squig herder or black orc. People say the squig herder really needs a buff and is kinda useless. Is that true? Also is the squig herder just like the WoW hunter?

Anyone else gettin DC's and these target out of range things often? About every second fight goes like this: I sent the pet, I can't hit the mob untill the pet dies. Also I've been getting a shit load of disconnects. About 2-5 every hour. Is it just my ISP or the damn french servers?

Out of an act of boredom, the availability of $50 and impulse, I bought it. I'm up to level 9 on my Bright Wizard. It's pretty fun so far. I need to get a guild soon, because the entire game seems so impersonal. You don't shout out for a group, you just go around your quest area and freely join a group; no one talks at all. Maybe I'm just the type of MMO player that enjoys a good 3-4 hour grind into a dungeon with a well oiled group. It makes me feel like I've accomplished something.

Anyway, maybe I'm being too impulsive. After all I've only made it to level 9. And all that's not saying it's not a fun game... I typed all that while logging into Warhammer, so

My zealot can now literally vomit everywhere every 5 seconds for lots of AoE damage. I got the ability last night at rank 18 and I think I'm still gonna be cracking up about it when I play tonight.

I also found a guild and am enjoying actually having a chat to look at while I play too...

I absolutely love the lore surrounding greenskins/zealots. Zealots are so vile and repulsive. The guys look like Charles Manson and the women like Lohan after a coke binge. I plan to level one eventually. I couldn't resist making a Goblin first... the greenskin start is just too much fun.

Man, I have GOT to get into more open world RvR, haven't even seen any real keep battles yet. Kind of lame at the moment though, it seems like everyone just backs off and lets the opposition cap so they can re-cap for extra renown. There doesn't seem to be any direct benefit to defending except to keep the enemy out, which won't become truly important until end-game when you're trying to keep them from gaining access to your city. For now, everyone is just thinking about their own progression. =/

Oh well, queueing for scenarios with my guild and stomping order is fun enough for now, and anything else is a bit laggy on my current setup anyway... can't wait to upgrade.

Phew. Just made the best decision ever. Changed from a med population realm to a high pop realm. The difference is just huge. Let me just say that you cannot play this game on a low pop realm. The game just feels so much better when theres sqenarios going on 24/7, pq's everything. Shit I even canceled my wow subscription. After a few patches this game will be way ahead of wow.

Just finished my first night of playing. Great game so far. Very polished, easy to use interface, nice (though not stellar) graphics, easy to pick up gameplay. Tried out an engineer. He's called Grinkin:

Dunno if I'll stick with him, since I want to try out all the careers, but it's been pretty cool so far. I might switch to a more magical class.

A little bit of Scenario face-raping that I dished out in Nordenwatch.

I'm only lvl 10 in this shot though, top damage and top kills, and most deathblows. I did the same thing in the scenario that I played following this one, but I did 1000 damage less as I died more. This is just a testament of how awesome a Bright Wizard is when there are proper healers.

I started with a White lion, then moved on to Bright wizard. It was really an effort not to be in the top of the damage lists in Nordenwatch with this class. Smells like nerfbatton

Stupid fire cage spell is broken right now and doesn't break with damage. Meanwhile the sorc root is functioning "properly" and breaking just fine. :arms:

Jesus I'm hating destruction on Darklands right now, seems like we have the population but not the skill. Just wiped three ****ing times trying to take a T2 keep with a FULL WARBAND, with NO ORDER OPPOSITION. Pugging scenarios is becoming incredibly painful as well, not to mention the queues. If I didn't have an awesome guild I'd seriously consider rerolling...

I like how you can heal faster after doing damage and vice versa. Makes it easy to support with DPS while healing a group. Haven't tried out PvP with it but I prolly will soon enough since it's an open RvR server.

Sadly, I often end up neglecting my "Waagh!" due to spamming heals. If anything, I dot everyone in sight and throw up my biggest heal at uber casting speed. HoT'ing is huge too. Very fun and diverse class so far, at rank 17 at the time of typing. Apparently we get group heals at the later levels and they're one of the biggest assets we bring to RvR, can't wait.

All the shamans (shamani?) in my guild say that you get the biggest healing figure in scenarios if you sit back and spam the AoE heals. Big figures aren't everything though, you also have to keep in mind that AoE heals only effect your immediate group, so if you're just spamming away on that you're probably letting someone else in the warband die. I'm not sure how it is for a shaman or any other ranged healer, but as a DoK I'm generally always in the thick of things, so it's easier for me to just watch out for people's health bars in my immediate vicinity instead of keeping my eyes pinned to the party/warband interface. Gets a little hard to click on people when things get a bit laggy, though... hope they patch that up soon.
