ok upgrading card soon

Well as the title says, ill be upgrading my videocard pretty soon. Ill be selling my 9800pro to a friend in desperate need of a card. And I was wondering, when the new 520 line comes out by ati arent they coming out with a midrange card? And does anyone have a clue how much say...a 6800gt will be after atis line comes out. Would it be better to wait till the 520 comes out and benchmarks against a 6800gt.

I'd wait and see how the ATI cards fair. They say the highend card is going to be rare (but not a ghost like the X800XTPE). The R520XL card might be a good buy. Have to wait and see.

Or you could get a 6800GT for cheap now. Up to you.

My guess is that when the 520 comes out, ati will lower the prices on the x800-x850, and slap a big "MIDRANGE" sticker on them.
Maybe not the x850..
A midrange version of the 520 would probably perform as good (Not much better anyway) as the x800. Making a midrange serie based on the 520 would be reinventing the wheel.
Just go ahead and buy the 6800gt. It's a very good card!

Yeah they will lower the price. But they will have a full line based on the R520/530/515 from value to highend by the end of Oct with Shader version 3.0, replacing the X300/600/700/800 cards.
