Hi. i am not a mapper and i am not planing on becoming one. but some of my favorite old cs maps were made by a guy that is not to popular, he just mapped for fun. and now i was wondering if it was possible to get them on css without the uncompiled version that hammer recognises? just a thought. let me know if u can help!

arg!

ok and if i had the files uncompiled (whatever they are before convertered to bsps) ?

Short answer: with some difficulty, yes.

Now, long answer, starting from the beginning: you can decompile a BSP to its pre-compilation form, but a lot of data is lost during goldsrc compilation, so you'll usually get a very ugly and error-filled map. You can open a pre-compilation file in Hammer 4, but the entire map will need to be retextured, and entity interactions will need to be reworked completely.

It'd be easier, quicker and less frustrating to start them from scratch for CS:S
