Heh... I was just rummaging through some old junk and I found this (attachment). Give me your suggestion as to what you think I should do with it. The best suggestion (if possible) I'll do... nothing rude mind!

Put it back into its slot, and then release it into the wild.

put 4 wheels on it and give it to a small child as a toy car

or blow it up

Sell it to an idiot, tell him/her its a supercomputer.

well, if we're going to that level, give it to a blind/deaf kid and tell him its a cell phone, he'll have a blast

you mean like 'this'??

you mean SD-Ram??

Dumbass.

If it was part of a working system I would have suggested donating it to some kind of special needs school or something.
On it's own - it's a paperweight.

put watercooling on to it and see how far you can oc it ???:) you never know pII coudl be amazing overclcokers at those temps :)

Sell on Ebay.

List it as the top of the range Intel processor and write a rude letter to accompany it of course.

Or, keep it for a few decades and you have an instant piece of computing history.

wow.. I've never seen a proccesssor that big!
I think you should get something like a Mac-mini and try and mod it into that case! That would be so cool and ironic to boot :naughty:

I reckon he should put it in a glass case and see how many families he can convince to come to his museum. Then he could print off crappy T-Shirts saying things like "I've seen Craig's PII266, and all I got was this crappy T-Shirt!", "My other CPU is a PII266!", and "Unlike a Woman, a PII266 never rejects a 3 1/2 inch floppy".

Either that, or you could film a spoof of the opening of 2001:A Space Odessey with lego-men as Apes and the PII266 as the humming monolith thing. Or perhaps you could just get normal sized people in ape-costumes, because those things were quite big...

Not much you can do with it. If you had the system you could have a print server or a local file server. But you dont want to keep an old processor around, might as well chuck it.

Keep it, and pass it down from generation-to-generation. It might be worth something in the future.

"Now this what the primates use to call the Abacus, they use to cook eggs on it"

hahaha

Sorry but having to wait a few decades takes away from it being instant ;p

Give it to charity :( rather then wasting it

Yes charity will put it to good use, they'll make houses out of processors, feed them to litle children or just make them wear clothes made of processors.

I can imagine taking it to a charity shop, them looking at me funny and saying "the museum is down the road dear". There was a fad a while back of making 486DX chips into keyrings... maybe I could do that? Although it'd be interesting trying to get it into my back pocket :\

Well :P it's not useless is it, you can build a really cheap computer just for word processing

Use it as paperweight or a bookend, i would. Or built an old Win95 pc for all the old games that dont work on xp... like sweet sweet Alpha Centauri :(
