Do they have any synth land troop transports? In fact, what synth transports do they have, besides the dropship? I'm going to guess assimilating human machines is easier than force-evolving species into synths, human tech is probably probably less temperamental and expensive.

I don't see why they need anything besides dropships. We haven't seen any larger synths than striders, after all, and they fit quite well on the dropship.

They probably have bigger transport synths though. Like the Advisor pods.

The combine are a massive multi-universal empire that span many, possibly hundreds of planets which they use for their needs...

And the combine were originally drawn to earth by the huge energy the Portal storms were giving off, and who says the combine are only on earth, when was the last time you went to jupiter in Hl2...

Striders arn't really that big, just really tall.

Well we could assume that the synths are in limited supply and in that case if you find a native vehicle thats as effective or close, why not use it till the full assimilation takes affect?

Could also take a guess that a empire that spans hundreds of planets and assimilated just as many races might not value Earth enuff to give more resources to its defense, might also explain why the humans ever had a chance to overthrow the combine in the first place.

Plus is could always be the bio end of a synth in short supply not the mech parts.

The reason they don't go to Jupiter is because the gravity of the planet would crush anything coming in its path, and Pluto is not exactly made out of the water you can drink. Other planets are so extremely cold that things such as methane are in a liquad form. (imagine if you gotta fart theres a liquad coming out of ur ass). Not to tell you it takes 15 years to get there.
