OP4 enemies?

Hey, does anyone have any idea what happened to all the creatures that were introduced in Opposing Force? Specifically I'm interested in those shock troopers with the roach guns. I seem to recall they were a rival faction of the Xen and that the pit drones were allied with them. There seems to be no indication who/what they exactly were and where they all went.

I kind of wish those bullsquids, houndeyes, and voltigaurs got nods of acknowledge too. It seems weird that they'd utterly disappear after the Black Mesa incident.

Oh I didn't meant vortigaunts...I meant those large monsters in OP4 that were incredibly hard to kill...voltigores.

I think that they were probably not fom Xen at all, but rather from another of the worlds that can be reached interdimensionally (not the combine world either though)

Vortigaunts (sp?) did, they, being very submissive, have been enslaved by the combine

The Combine probably have some sort of device to prevent other transdimensional arrivals

Also, the Xen aliens prob aren't able to warp as much without the bighead alien

it's quite possible that Shepard wiped out a large amount of Race X
also, they could be on earth, who knows...we've only seen some very specific areas in and around city 17

It was never confirmed where Race X was from of what their motivations were. However, Valve has said that Race X is was not part of the main story of HL.

In short, they were put in to give OpFor a new variety of advisaries. Don't expect to see them again.

Race X almost definitely are from Xen, but a far-off section of it. Nihilanth's forces live in a big nebula, and I'm pretty sure Race-X lives in the area with the collosal microbes in the sky.

They invaded Earth probably to fight against the combine, or to get revenge for the humans for taking their children, or both.

It seems to me hey gave up after their entire attacking force got nuked though
