it happens to all my opengl games

ive tried using different drivers but still the same

my system specs are

Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB
Catalyst 4.10 Drivers
512 DDR Ram
Windows XP Service Pack 2

thanks in advanced

What settings you running the games at?...

i susally run the games at the highest, haven't tried lowering them
ive only lowered the right click--->properties--->settings--->advanced--->3D part

how low should i underclock it?

EDIT:

cant seem to edit my first post

well i get checkers when I boot up also

The more underclock the more sure you can be that it's the problem, maybe 20mhz or so.

All settings high? What AA and AF settings? Setting them beyond the limit of the card can certainly do that...

its not the AA and AF settings. I've tried lowering everyhing and still no dice.

couldn't edit my last post but

should i underclock both the core and the memory or just one of them?

also, when I try to get it down to 20, i get the VPU recover message.

don't go more than 20. 20 was example,

you could go for 5 then 10 then 11..etc and try them,

Do you have latest driver ? if yes, then check your heat,
