Does anyone have any thoughts on the people in HEV suits lying around Xen in Half-Life? When i first saw them I kind of got the feeling: hey there are a lot of people like Gordon... Except of cause they all failed in the end...

I'm pretty sure they were the specimen retrieval teams that began to get "collected" themselves...

The HEV suit is just something they wear to protect them in the.. err.. hazardous materials they were using. They're just scientists.

Gordon's more hardcore than them

Maybe the g-man crosses dimensions seeing who best suits his jobs - maybe they're just diff gordons from diff dimensions, who, as u say, nearly got there.

Each dimension = each time u load the game, may haps

Gordons suit doesnt make him super - hes just `the one`.

I don't think Gordon is "the one" in any way. He is just extremely intelligent and has a very well developed survival drive.
