Hey all, I'm working on a map for tf2 loosely based on Outlands, a Q2CTF map. It's going to be a capture-point based map unlike it's ancient ancestor. Mostly because I feel that ctf in tf2 is less intense than capture points. I'm going to keep it TF2 style, but with a similar layout to Outlands from the classic map.

I'll post some preliminary screenshots here soon. Still trying to fix cubemaps and other fun stuff.

Screenshots

So far the red base is almost done being fleshed out. This area will be blocked off to the enemy team:

Spawning area, the resupply lockers are on the right wall not pictured here. (cubemaps not built so floor is reflecting wrong)

Hallway to the first cap point (the stairs in the first set of pics lead to an upstairs exit which accesses the first point and the outside level area).

For those who've not played the map, it's essentially 2 bases set inside a mountainside with 2 interweaving paths (one water, one land).

more screenshots to come!

I know it's been a while, and progress has been somewhat slow because I wanna make a map that's on par with valve's level of detail. I've also started over on a few areas (namely the middle of the map) which has set my progress back a bit.

here's some screenshots of the latest iteration:

more to come as time permits!

I don't want to sound like an ass, but I'm 99% sure Valve is already remaking that map.

Some files in the .gcf are mentionning badlands

Do you plan on adding proper borders to your doors and windows? Will look a lot more professional than simple rectangles cut out of the walls. Otherwise good work.

don't worry, I will be adding lots of trim and details etc... this is still pretty rough. thanks for the feedback!
