About
Over-Run is a Half Life 2 zombie modification. We hope to make
this different from other zombie
mods. This is our updated list of features.
We plan to have 4 game modes for alpha and beta release. There is a description of the game modes below.
Over-Run Mode: In this mode all players will be on the human team. They will be fighting against zombie AI controlled bots. These bots will try and hunt the players down and kill them. The players have a certain amount of time to survive for and then they win. But if they get killed off they lose.
Elimination Deathmatch Mode: In this game mode one player will randomly be chosen to be a zombie. This one zombie must kill the humans. When a human gets killed he becomes a zombie. This may sound like the excellent HL1 and soon to be HL2 mod Zombie Panic but we are trying to make it different. There will again be a time limit for the humans to survive. But all the players who are zombies will be humans next round and all humans will be zombies. This will stop camping for alot of time and all and should even things out a bit.
Civilian Rescue Mode: In this game mode all players will be on the human team. They will be fighting AI controlled bots. They will be hunting down AI controlled humans. The players job will be to find these humans and hold onto them for a certain amount of time. After this amount of time the civilians disapper. But if the AI zombies kill all the AI humans then the player looses. The cool thing is these will not be like Counter Strike hostages who stand still, these civilians will be running away. So it will be hard to track them down. It should be a laugh.
Objective Mode: In this game mode the players will be doing various objectives. These range from demolishing areas to prevent zombies to escaping areas from zombies in cars!
Ok that is the game modes sorted out. Now onto features. These will be the things that sets it different from other mods.
- Our zombies walk. We do not have running zombies. We want to go old school. It may be annoying for a human but these zombies are impossibly strong.
- Vehicles, you can drive cars in this. The zombies can stop you though. The zombies can hop ontop of your car and pull you out if you do not slam the brakes or ram into a wall.
- Grusome gore. If the zombies unleash there grab attack the game will go into 3rd person. Button combinations appear on screen and the player has to press the corrosponding buttons or it will go into a random animation fo him getting killed. Ie getting head ripped off.
- Take out flashlight. Yes its like Doom 3. You have to take out your flashlight to use it. You can use your flashlight as a weapon too though.
- Over 50 weapons. These weapons will range from melle weapons to submachine guns to explosives and even to flameable ie flamethrower!
- Over 10 playable charecters. These players range from men to women, black and white, chinese and iraqi people. All with their own story.
