Overwatch Announcer

So, i was thinking today.

How is it that the announcer works. I guess that in the cities the Combine have rigged up some sort of tannoy system so that the announcer can communicate over that. However, in White Forest, the Combine don't have any outposts. How is it, then, that the announcer can still function and give orders/warnings to soldiers or enemies?

Do scanners perform some sort of role as a loudspeaker device, or do Advisors broadcast these messages, rather than a sort of tannoy system. Is there some sort of sound outputting device attached to combine soldiers or synths?

Or, have the combine developed a way to transmit sound over hugely long distances using some sort of weird technology(far fetched).

That's a very good question. In City 17, the Overwatch had loudspeakers. Out in the countryside, we still hear her (though her voice sounds more natural, less filtered) without the benefit of such. I'm guessing she isn't speaking over a public address system, which would explain her more natural tone, but how exactly are we hearing her?

The Overwatch announcer isn't limited to just loudspeakers. She can be heard in Nova Prospekt and on radios, issuing directives to whole areas or in specific locations.

I imagine they have some way of broadcasting from mobile aerial units and the like. From choppers or dropships, perhaps. It would explain why you can still hear her out in the wild.

I imagine they have some way of broadcasting from mobile aerial units and the like. From choppers or dropships, perhaps. It would explain why you can still hear her out in the wild.

They can also anounce with APC's. After first advisor encounter in the red barn there is one outside.

Something like that when you hear the Forest announcer for the first time. Its hot.

I think youre right,they probably have radios in all theyre vehicles,and its turned on high volume so that all soldiers around it can hear it :O

That's how I figured it was as well. The announcement at the beginning of Episode Two appears to be coming from the Helicopter you see and when you hear one in the Advisor Barn, you go outside and find an APC.

Yeah, when I first heard I restarted last save so I can hear it few more times. It was great! I just love her voice!
