Ok I know they actually save money by not putting the discs into jewel cases, but does anyone else get pissed that they are doing this? I have so many cds laying around of frikken $50 games without cases all over my desk because the paper sleeves that they were shipped with got ruined. Not only that but they dont provide much protection to the disk even if you do have them. Spill something and the paper gets soaked. Drop it and the disk could get crushed. I actually rolled over a disc with my chair once and it got completly destroyed. Now I cant uninstall this game because I lost disk 2 and cant ever install it again.

Is it too much to ask for a jewel case? Even one of them fancy slim style ones can probably hold 2 disks with a bit of adjustment.

And is it "disk" or "disc"? Thats really bugging me too (but not to the point of going through the effort of checking a dictionary lol)

The only game I have with a sleeve is Freelancer, so I can't relate to you.

CDs are "discs", floppys are "disks"

Thnx, never knew that.

I don't mind, as long as I get the game.

yeah I have about 100 Jewel cases lying around from random blank CD's that I had and lost.

All hail DVD cases! THE future gaming container!

...you can, of course, buy jewel cases for less than a buck a piece. I mount the CD image as a virtual drive on my computer, repack the original in it's box, and put it on the shelf, never to be touched again (unless there is an emergency). The only game on CD that I haven't been able to port onto a virtual CD is Scrapland.

DVD case ftw, I hope that is how all games and movies are sold from now on.

The only time I get a paper sleeve is if the game has 4 CD's. The 4th CD normally gets put in a seperate sleeve behind the manual. The other CD's are always in the DVD case CD holder...

Remember when PC games used to come in big cardboard boxes? They were damn annoying, a big awkward shaped box you can’t stack neatly on a shelf like CD’s or console games. And what did they contain? A CD and a manual. They had to have a folded piece of cardboard in there to restrict the CD from sliding and rattling about. Those things were mostly air for **** sake.

No. Jewel cases are shit, they get broke too easily. Dvd cases are thankfully becoming the standard.

I <3 dvd cases. I got my dvd drive after hl2 came out, so I had to get the cd version. 5 friggen cds man. I had to kick the 4 SWG cds out of their box, and then find a empty dvd case (courtesy of AOL, with their stupid free trials) for the last one.

You should be able to unistall everything related to that game under perhaps a folder that you were unistalling from. Either that or there are temp files in the WINDOWS/TEMP folder that need deleting.

Curious, where do you actually live? the only software that I have a papercases for are hardware drivers, all of my games come in either a CD or DVD jewel case.

You shouldn't let CDs lying aroudn anyways, that's your own fault.

I <3 dvd cases.

I think that standard packaging is going to hell, as well. I mean, GTA:SA was the best packaged thingy so far - instead of a wimpy cardboard box with a flimsey piece of paper and paper cases, i get a book full of maps and injokes, serving as a guide to SA, and then the CD is INSIDE the book. How cool is that? fo'shizzle.

/me has fansy dvd racks because she is a crazy film nut too.

Alot of spaces for dvds, with or without cases. But yes when games come in paper cases it pisses me off.
