Pay To Download? WTF?

I was just looking at an old thread which was closed and it made me wonder as I don't get it. Are you going to have to pay to get updates for a game you purchased? or what is it? I don't get it.

No you don't. They changed the SKUs when sierra was closed down, so we don't really know if that option is available anymore.

You should have read that thread properly before posting.

There might be an optional payment plan where you'll pay a monthly fee but to do so you'll receive all Valve titles as they are released.

That is an optional payment plan, and if you just buy the game in the shop then you will still get completely free updates to those games.
