I was thinking(not again!) and I was wondering how much of the HECU(Military in BM) wore a PCV.

All of them. The only Reason Shephard takes so much punishment is to keep the game fair.

oh yeah, sorry i forgot, the blackops had their own vest, so that makes my vote all soldiers insted of all soldiers and blackops

Do they? It seemed like a normal PCV that was black to me

All the soldiers. After all, people generally die after one bullet when they're unprotected. :E

Unless there fooking 'ard :p
But seriously, yeah they all have PCV's. If they didnt both you and all the Soldiers / Black Ops in OPP. Force would die in a single bullet / headhumper bite

Just because they weren't wearing PCVs doesn't mean they weren't wearing armour.

It doesn't make sense for them not to have PCVs though.

- Adrian Shepherd is a soldier
- Other soldiers are soldiers.
- Adrian Shepherd wears a PCV as standard
- Thus, so do the other troopers (probably)
- Adrian Shepherd's PCV allows him to withstand a lot of damage
- Other soldiers can withstand a lot of damage

Yeah, it's not like Adrian is part of an especially elite unit or a VIP(Then again, if he was a VIP they wouldn't be sending him into Black Mesa in the first place). It only makes sense that the PCV is standard issue for the HECU, or maybe even the entire US Military.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the Civil Protection and Overwatch in HL2 used PCV-like technology. It would certainly explain the charging units found everywhere.

It's obvious by their in-game models that all of the soldiers wear PCVs. The real question is why the black ops don't seem to be wearing any sort of powered armor.

All the marines wore PCVs, note the small yellow screened control pannel thing on thier vests (highly technical language there), but it would seem that the black ops didnt. They possibly had a more advanced version of it as at the boot camp all the MPs wore PCVs as well, implying that they had become standard issue within the USMC at least.

HECU marines definitely all wear PCVs.

The female black ops seem to wear a sort of PCV, and I don't remember what the male black ops wore, but it's likely the same.

Seeing as how it takes almost takes an entire clip of MP5 to even pase them I think they all wear one.

Another possibility is that they may be on some Captain America esque super-soldier formula.

Well. The original had rivits but is otherwise the same as the OP4 one. The female is wearing something somewhat like it and the male's one is a bit further removed.

just because blackops are not wearing PVC's, it doesn't mean they don't have any armor at all... it looks more like a kevlar to me for the blackops.
