The creator of the mod seems to be Russian, but what he lacks in good English he more than makes up for in mapping and level design.
The mod story does not consider events in Half-Life 2: Episode 1. After explosion of citadel,
G-man immerses Gordon Freeman in stasis, but after a while deduces it from there for the new mission.
The target of this mission is penetration into a citadel which is in City 18 (the city located near to City 17).
In this citadel there is a teleport in Combine world.
Using this teleport, it is necessary to get in Combine World and to destroy their leader.

Here are some facts about Penetration (I can't believe I just said that :dork:)

Penetration is a new mod for Source set in the Half-Life 2 universe.
Penetration has a mod profile on the ModDB.
Penetration can be downloaded from the ModDB here and from Filefront here

Looks good, gonna download now.

EDIT: Ending sucked. Was broing and dull at times. G-Man hardly spoke :(
Had some fun parts in. Thankfully wasn't to long...
Decent enough, 6/10

I'm going on the following comments posted on the ModDB by ChromeAngel, author of a very good mapping guide for Natural Selection.
ey that was pretty fun. A small, but reasonable variety of enemies and weapons. Health and ammo disribution was good (just sparse enough to keep me on edge).

Good quality mapping with a few minor niggles :
A tunnel you can drive though in one direction, but not the other (yes I tried to go back for more rockets).
A map tranistion that left me stuck in a console (the prop was probably too close to the transition area).
Crashed a couple of times during transitions (they worked OK when I reloaded a saved game).

The first gunship encouter was tough, prehaps a bit too tough for such an early stage of the game.

I thought the city part of the game was excellent.

Despite it being a bank holiday here in the UK, I still haven't had a chance to download and play this. Did anyone play through it yet?

Yeah I played through it, the mapping is very good. But npc placement could have been alot better. Overall it was pretty fun, worth the time to download.

beautiful level design, but unfortunately like many other singleplayer maps it lacked an ending. it was also a bit sparse on the enemies, but had its moments. i recommend it to any sp fan.

The leveldesign was pretty good. Not quite flawless but it didn't bugger me. Variety of weapons and enemies is alright. Am I the only one who always crashed against the tunnelwalls with the buggy after the loading part?

The ending was a bit boring and lacking. It didn't feel the last part was the ending part of a game.

Give it a 6.5 out of 10.
