Perhaps...

:D, I think this is a really good explanation, if Valve gets hold of this...

That would be insanely cool. It would take a lot of explaining though.

hmm, wouldn't that mean, that AS must be somewehere near city 17?

Is this a theory? Or just an idea for how Portal gets brutally injected into the Half-Life universe?

No Barney or Shepart at Aperture. Thats final!

Yeah, seeing that rebel in the back would be really weird and hard to explain. Who's the guy with the AR3?

I think Chell is going to be saved by a bunch of soldiers with gas masks. Then one of them says "By the way, my name's Shepard. Adrian Shepard."

Why? Because I could think that Chell could be picked up by a Truck Driver, driven to the 16th century and raped by seven goats. But that doesn't mean much.

Then the truck driver (who wears a gas mask) is going to say "By the way, my name is Shepard. Adrian Shepard. Us marines" and Portal 2 starts. You are Shepard and you have the basic hl arsenal and have to fight a bunch of combines. In the end the gman gives a speech and then portal 2 is over.

Yeah basically it doesn't mean much, I only said it because I knew I would enrage people. I was trolling :D

It is just a theory, but Portal is already part of Half Life, did you not know?

No, it's in the same universe. They're not in the same game. And it hasn't been brought together clearly as to what sort of time Portal is set.

It is CLEARLY set after the black mesa incident. It is clear enough judging from GLaDOS lines. I don't know if it after or during the portal storms\seven hour war or even during the events in hl2.

And what the hell "they are in the same universe but not in the same game" is supposed to mean? They are part of the same plot, in the end.

Aperture Science is going to be a big part of episode three, Chell will be a character in half-life- it has been confirmed several times.
