Playing fine for 4/5 of game but now i crash!

WARNING SPOILER ALERT:

I'm on the "your benefactors" chapter and i've got the blue manipulator and i was playing fine (bin playing for about 4hours today ) then it autosaves the game and my game crashes (making a windows error noise but no msg) Any ideas?!?!

That use to happen to me in HL. Hasn't happen to me so far in HL2. You have to go back to an earlier point in the game before that save and do over. For some reason when I make Freeman jump before the autosave and during it, it doesn't crash as well. It usually happens when you're using codes I find. But this autosave has happened to be in other games as well like KOTOR. It's most likely a bug.

loaded the save just before and redid it, it works now!

(i've now also completed it!!!)
