Should fire from Natascha be able to slow (but obviously not damage) an ubered medic and his patient? I've been debating this in my head and am torn either way.

I wouldn't think so, bullets don't phase ubers so why should their effects?

And the Sandman shouldn't be able to stun ubers either.

Sure, it's hardly that devestating of an effect.

Wait, wut?

Seriously, how come noone else chose that?

What's the point of being invulnerable if you have a checklist of things that can still stop you? I think it's good that there is a counter for it but uber serves an important role in that it allows a deadlocked battleground to be broken. It shouldn't be easy to stop it ( and considering how short uber is I think slowing it down is almost as good as stopping it).

But so few heavys carry Natascha, and the effect is so minimal that I don't think I've ever even noticed it being used to slow ubers.

That's true I'm mostly just against there being multiple things that can counter uber. Perhaps Natascha as a counter instead of that damn bat. Then again maybe I'm just biased.. I think getting bonked is annoying as hell.

Oh yeah, the consensus is definitely that Sandman should not affect ubers. I'm with you on that one.

I think as it is there are just too many scouts who are using the sandman.
Once everything is balanced out having heavies with natascha slowing down the ubers would have a more adverse effect than the scout (the weakest, if fastest, class) having an almost one-time per half a minute hit that will stun the uber with varying degrees of sucess.

I say yes. Whenever someone uses an uber everyone on the enemy team turns their attention to him, follows him wherever he goes, and holds fire until it wears off. I'd like the idea of actually making enemies want to shoot someone ubered for one reason or another instead of just taking a seat on a nearby bench with a copy of the sears magazine, occasionally looking up to check if the uber wore off yet.

Which is why the scout (the more active of the classes) should be the one with the ability to stun the uber instead of a heavy who could very well just wait it out.

Except the stun is just total overkill. Even at close range it'll take out one third of the uber's usefullness. Natascha is pretty reasonable, since you still have the ability to fire and are still moving at least a little until you kill the heavy. The airblast will knock you around a bit, but it's still pretty easy to kill the pyro if you keep your cool or have some skill. If the scout is a good shot, it doesn't matter. It's just wasted.

wrong. sentries push ?bers.

I'd rather have this than the sandman's complete stun, so yes.

retarded forum...fix for umlaut plz kthx bye!

No, Natascha slows people by damaging them, if they are ubercharged they are not being damaged. Ubered people get enough trouble from Sentry pushback than to have to prioritise with a single heavy blocking the way.

Definitely not. We may as well remove ubers if heavies are slowing them, sentries and pyros pushing them and scouts stunning them. They've already lost a lot of authority, and this would be a further nail in the coffin.

I completely agree with this.

Seconded, good point.

*goes to 24/7 2fort server :bounce:

yeah, i mean its supposed to help the heavy and what would help you more than slowing down your enemies.

Eh, negative. That would just be silly. The only way I can see this work is if Natascha slows the ubers down by a mere 15 or 20 perccent, instead of what it's at now.

All I have to say is a single Pyro with the regular flamethrower can airblast the medic off the ubered target EASILY. The Scout bonking them, and then the Demo sticky nading them from each other, and then the Pyro rushing in to airblast them, and then the Soldier rocketing them away from each other as well, and then a sentry's blowback already doesn't counter an uber enough.. We need the Heavy to slow them down just so we can get all of those things set up and in place.

Right..

Brilliant idea. >_<

EDIT: Oddly enough I voted yes for some bizarre reason.

(I like to throw off polls..)

:D

Nice one. Oh wait.

I'd say something about your grammar, maybe even stoop so low to insult your intelligence, but I'm more of a gentleman than that. I'll just go back to eating my 'umlaut.'

A sentry gun is radically different from the guns carried by TF2 classes. A sentry gun needs one defense(if not more). A sentry gun's push is due to the mass output of ammunition (rockets and bullets), and like the rockets, stickies and pipe bombs that are so iconic in Team Fortress 2, they exert a force/push on the enemy.

Natascha is completely different from these weapons. It slows the enemy, something not found in any other weapon in Team Fortress 2, which is an effect. True, rockets, stickes and pipe bombs also have "effects." These effects are "physics effects," the same that happens when you sticky jump or rocket jump.
