COMBINation of aliens and humans. Alien made humanoid clones, made to fight for them.
 
human clones, yeah i believe that too. my theory: the combine are a combination of aliens/humans, working together toward making earth safe after the resonance cascade. the alien part of the combine aren't of xen though, they are totally different. The aliens combine have their own secret agenda to take over the earths recourses, and the human part of the combine don't realize this.
 
Safe? like i'm gonna bust down your door and yell at you safe? like put forgetfullness agents into the water? or possibly the fact that EVERY SINGLE GUARD IS ARMED. the draining earths resources seems true enough. i mean. they took out alot of the water. i mean look at the dry seabeds. they seem to be of advanced people, having robotic striders and gunships walking and flying about. They've developed hover and anti-gravity systems to allow their scanners to fly. But they use human made weapons, thats odd, with such advance tech, they want to use human weapons. Stun sticks, mp7s, SPAS shotguns, OICW rifles. grenades.
its clear the the combine are but human made robots with gushing red interiors. 'Nuff said.

it doesnt make much sense to say that they are a combination of humans\aliens.
they look pretty human ,they have red blood and use human weaponry.
well guess what they are now ,. . HUMANS !!!!!
yes they use a lot of cool stuff to support them (like striders ,gunships ,flying camera-thingies . . . ) but they themself are humans. maybe they invented all that fascinating stuff in black mesa and tested it in xen after the nihilanths death.
would make sense huh ? :thumbs:
 
We've only seen a small portion of the enemies that will be in the game (about 50). I think the Combine soldiers we've seen so far are human, but the Combine definitely has alien connections.

I voted other so here is my explanation:

I think the combine group are probably humans who are sympathetic to the alien invaders(or don't want to be shot or inslaved). the leader is human, right? that guy with the shaved head who has his picture all over the place. my theroy is that the combine are a puppet government, mostly humans, but there are some aliens in the ranks.
 
I am pretty sure I know what they are but I am not going to comment any further than that...

heh heh...i wonder if spoiler tags would work. it IS legit HL2 info, if Merc told us. but then again some people who don't want to know will still highlight it because their curiosity gets the best of them. Then they'll regret it, a lot. i'd be one of them =P

ahhh, a tester huh? maybe he's selling valve secrets to the chinese :farmer:! I have to admit, I would probably be in the cayman islands with a bag of money right now if i knew that stuff :angel:.
 
He started a whole thread about going to VALVe, went there, and then went back the next day to playtest, and yes, it's been confirmed...

He hasn't really leaked any secrets. He just enjoys letting us know that HL2 rocks :laugh:...

A. He called them up and asked if he could visit, or something along those lines, I believe.

And on topic... Err... What was the topic... Oh, yes, I think the word Combine is definately used in the sense of a combination of things... Whether it's several species, several countries, machines and humans, or whatever, remains to be seen...
