and as to the combine, they are might humans who are trying to regain some power for the humans.(i know, its a garbage idea but i'm just tossing stuff out there) either its that or the idea in my early post.

I don't actually know if they have that many fans that can get to their offices... And , (B), yeah, I seem to come across most of the darn things before they get deleted... Fortunately they're a bit rare at the moment...

I wonder if the word "Combine" actually refers to their technology? A combination of human tech (Helicopters, rollermins and miscellaneous weaponry) and alien biotech (Striders, Gunships and possibly Dropships...)

I dunno, I think "combine" refers to harvesting earths resources and turning its humans into slaves(notice how everyone dresses the same, even alyx and her dad). but I think my earlyer post sounds right. that guy with the shaved head is the head combine, is he not? where does it say that they are aliens?

Oh, missed the rest of the second-last post. Well, one of the original vids (Non-bink) has someone from VALVe giving a voiceover, and he can be heard to refer to the "Alien Combine"...

I bet they are 100% humans, why else would they shoot aliens?

Aliens don't neccessarily like other aliens, you only have to look at the Xen and Race-X to see that...

The soldiers are humans but somehow the "Administration" is influenced by intelligent aliens. I think Breen and his allies founded it, couldn't handle the situation and so welcomed the "benefactors" when they appeared. Only the enemies such as Striders and Gunships are bio-mechanical.

It has to be sorta a puppet goverment, since the leader is human. humans would freak if a alien was in charge. the combine are at least humanoid , not some six faced guy that speaks in gurgles. so, at the moment its a good setup, have a nice human man say you are safe. while the real power behind the throne is the invaders, but with short term momory loss agents in the water, everyone makes a good kinda woozy slave(again, notice how everyone wears a uniform?). plus, with little flying cameras monitoring your every move, you have almost no chance to resist. just like that book called "1984"(I think that was it). and the reason the combine fight antlions is due to the fact they are pretty much lions with more legs. its like us fighting lions or sharks.

We don't really know exactly where they came from. But they fight if they meet Xenians in the game.
