Possible HUD problem

Just purchased the game on steam and it is GREAT. I love it. One thing I noticed though. My HUD seems to be missing the pictures of the weapons when I pick up the corresponding ammo. I've provided screenshots to give an example of what I mean. Anyone know if this is a problem or do you get something later on in the game that adds that feature in? Notice the R, Q and K.

oh you have to delete the hl2 font in your font folder and put the font thing from your half life folder in it or something
