ANyone here else think it's possible that Valve sent the RC to vivendi a long time ago and they are planning on releasing it realy soon but odn't wanna tell us.. I mean come on judging from the crap valve put us through lately it is a possibility...

Whether or not they deliver a release candidate is not related to how much crap we've had to take from them. The CS:S beta is acting as a platform to test the source engine for platform compatibility, and, so far, there are still bugs to be fixed in the Source engine. They won't deliver the RC until those are fixed. Not to say that HL2 will be completely bug free on release....

Yeah I've been thinking about that alot myself, wouldn't it be great if they released it the 15 september instead of 30th? and I hope the damn thing ain't coming in november...

Oh, if it comes within days of November I'll be pissed. Early October should be time enough. Plus, with all the other games comming out that I plan on buying, Halo 2 included(please, no need to flame me), HL2 has a good chance of getting put on the back burner for good while. Late October to early November is just rediculous. Sept. 30th was the date last year, the least they could do is release it around the same time this year.

Guys, they well not send a RC to vivendi until the CS:S beta has been closed. Then i'd imagine they will tie up all the loose ends for a few days, send the final RC. Then announce gold.

I'm guessing the CS:S will probably last till the end of this month, then vivendi takes forever to get out games, so probably first week of november looks pretty reasonable.

It is taking vivendi a month just to put out Evil Genius (and we all know what a mega blockbuster game that is... really, i meant it )

no it's not possible, stop deluding yourself. the game is done when it's done, it'll be announced gold when it's done, and the publisher at that point will give a release date.
